Amy Pishner Featured on WGOW Radio: Expert Dog Training Tips
Over the past year, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to be a returning guest on WGOW 102.3 FM’s Jed and JR Mornings—a fun, high-energy radio show based in Chattanooga. I’m Amy Pishner, founder and head trainer at Valor K9 Academy, and it all started with an accidental phone call.
Jed originally dialed my number by mistake looking for another dog trainer. We got to talking, and by the end of our conversation, he asked if I wanted to be a guest on his show. Of course, I said yes! Since then, I’ve been featured five times on the show, and each time has been an absolute blast. Now I’m featured on a monthly basis!
I love these interviews because they give me a chance to answer real questions from dog owners, share my passion for dogs and training, and help educate the community.
Topics We’ve Covered on WGOW
During my time on WGOW, I’ve shared professional insight on a wide variety of topics, including:
- How to choose the right puppy or breeder
- The difference between purebred vs. well-bred dogs
- Shelter and rescue dogs: the good, the bad, and the misunderstood
- Understanding and solving dog aggression and reactivity
- Addressing resource guarding
- Raising a confident personal protection dog
- The most common issues in multi-dog households
- My personal favorite breeds to train
