Behavior Rehabilitation Programs
Best for: Owners seeking hands-on guidance and a structured plan to address mild to moderate behavior issues.
Looking for professional Boise dog behavior training? Our private behavior lessons provide personalized, one-on-one instruction designed to address the root causes of problem behaviors. Lessons take place in our Eagle, Idaho training space and in real-world environments where behaviors actually occur.
Our private behavior training program focuses on:
Building confidence and impulse control
Reducing fear, anxiety, and reactivity
Improving obedience, leash manners, and handling skills
Teaching calm behavior around people, dogs, and everyday distractions
Coaching owners on clear communication and consistent follow-through
Each program begins with clear goal-setting and a customized training plan. After every session, you’ll receive structured homework and guidance to ensure progress continues at home.
Private behavior lessons are not appropriate for red-zone or high-risk aggression cases. We work only with dogs whose behavior challenges can be addressed safely through structured training and owner participation.
Behavior change requires consistency, commitment, and leadership. Space is intentionally limited, and we partner with owners who are ready to follow the plan and invest the time and effort needed to achieve lasting, real-world results.

Our Behavior Rehabilitation Board & Train programs are typically 3–5 weeks long and are designed to address the root cause of behavior issues before layering in obedience. Most problem behaviors stem from fear, inadequate socialization, lack of confidence, hyperactivity, or poor impulse control—and lasting change comes from fixing those foundations first.
How the Program Works
This program combines behavior modification with our proven Good Dog™ Board & Train, creating a clear path from instability to reliability.
Phase One: Behavior Rehabilitation
We begin by identifying and addressing the underlying cause of the behavior using structured training, controlled exposure, confidence-building, and clear boundaries. This phase focuses on:
Reducing fear, anxiety, and reactivity
Building confidence and impulse control
Improving social skills and emotional regulation
Teaching calm, appropriate behavior around people, dogs, and new environments
Phase Two: Obedience & Reliability
Once behavior foundations are in place, we transition into full obedience training. Dogs are taught and proofed in real-world environments to ensure reliability both on and off leash.
What’s Included
During the program, your dog:
Lives in a structured, home environment with the trainer
Receives daily, individualized training
Practices skills in real-world settings
Learns obedience, manners, and appropriate responses to everyday situations
Owner education is a critical part of this program. Private lessons are included during and after the Board & Train so you learn how to handle, communicate with, and maintain your dog’s progress at home.
Important Notes
This program is not designed for red-zone or high-risk aggression cases
Owner consistency and follow-through are required for acceptance
Behavior rehabilitation is an investment of time, effort, and commitment
By addressing behavior first and obedience second, this program produces calm, confident dogs who understand expectations and choose appropriate behavior in real life.

Starting at $1,549.00 per week
Best for: Owners who want professional behavioral guidance while training obedience at home, at a structured and manageable pace.
This program combines our online Good Dog™ obedience course with in-person behavior lessons, creating a safe, effective tandem approach to training. We work directly with you and your dog to address behavioral challenges, while you build obedience, structure, and consistency at home using our proven system.
How the Tandem Approach Works
We handle the behavioral foundation—helping you address issues such as fear, reactivity, impulse control, confidence, and poor social skills—through in-person lessons and professional coaching.
At the same time, you work through the Good Dog™ online course at home, teaching:
Core obedience skills (sit, down, place, heel, come)
On- and off-leash reliability
Impulse control and polite manners
Focus and confidence around distractions
Daily structure, physical exercise, and mental stimulation
This parallel approach allows your dog to progress safely, clearly, and efficiently, without overwhelming the dog or the owner.
Why This Works
Behavioral issues are addressed with professional oversight
Obedience is built consistently at home, at your own pace
Training remains structured, fair, and easy to maintain
Owners gain real skills and confidence handling their dog
The obedience training mirrors the same methods used in our private lessons and Good Dog™ Board & Train programs, ensuring consistency across all training formats.

Required for dogs with a history of fear, aggression, reactivity, extreme anxiety, or separation anxiety.
If your dog is not safe or social with people, other dogs, or in new environments, training begins with a consultation.
Every Successful Training Journey Starts With a Plan
Behavior cases require clarity, structure, and safety. Our behavioral training consultations are designed to thoroughly evaluate your dog’s behavior history, temperament, triggers, and risk factors, allowing us to determine the most appropriate and effective training path.
During the consultation, we will:
Review your dog’s background, behavior history, and daily routines
Identify the root causes of the behavior (fear, confidence, impulse control, socialization, anxiety, etc.)
Assess handling skills and environmental management
Discuss realistic goals, timelines, and expectations
Why a Consultation Is Required
A consultation allows you to:
Gain clarity on your dog’s behavior and what’s driving it
Understand our balanced, structured training approach
Receive a clear recommendation for next steps
We will determine whether your dog is a candidate for private behavior lessons, a Behavior Rehabilitation Board & Train, or a tandem training program.
Please note: A consultation does not guarantee acceptance into training. We do not work with red-zone or high-risk aggression cases.
In-Person or Virtual
Consultations are available in person at our Eagle, Idaho training space or virtually.
A consultation is required for all in-person behavior training for dogs five months of age and older.
Start with clarity. Train with purpose. Build lasting results.

Our Behavior Training Philosophy
Behavior rehabilitation is about understanding the “why” behind behavior and creating a clear, foundations-first plan to address it. Every dog is unique, and lasting results come from identifying and addressing the root causes of problem behaviors—whether it’s fear, dominance, lack of confidence, impulse control issues, inadequate socialization, or unintentionally reinforced habits.
How We Work
We begin by safely establishing control and trust using tools like slip leads, food rewards, muzzles when needed, and safe pack dogs. This sets the stage for teaching dogs obedience and manners while building confidence and impulse control.
Once the dog understands expectations, we layer in training collars and e-collars for on- and off-leash accountability, gradually fading rewards while maintaining reliability in real-world situations.
Owner Partnership is Key
Behavior rehabilitation is a true partnership between trainer and owner. We only work with owners who are committed to following the training plan, consistent at home, and willing to invest the necessary time, energy, and focus. Doing things right requires hard work—but the results are lasting and transformative.
What We Emphasize
Our approach balances structure with fairness and focuses on:
-
Building confidence and trust in your dog
-
Reducing fear, anxiety, and reactivity triggers
-
Teaching owners consistent communication and handling skills
-
Reinforcing calm, appropriate behaviors in real-world situations
We believe in doing things the right way, producing behavior changes that last well beyond training sessions and create dogs who are confident, reliable, and happy in everyday life.
